The Soft- Coated Wheaten Terriers originated out of Ireland about 200 years ago. They were developed to be an all purpose farm dog hunting small game and protecting the family. They're generally 18" to 19" tall at the shoulders and 35 to 40 lbs. and
wheaten in color (It takes 18 mos. to 2 yrs. to come to their adult color) and they're hypoallergenic and non-shedding.
The Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier is a medium sized dog that's an excellent family dog and gets along with other pets when socialized. They're energetic, alert and good watchdogs. They have a cheerful personality and are ready to do anything to make you happy.
All of our parent dogs are up-to-date on their vaccinations and they're given a yearly health exam by our vet to help ensure that there are no health problems.
Our puppies/dogs are kept in a specially built nursery which is heated/air conditioned and humidity controlled to be kept at 70 degrees year-round. We recommend feeding a high quality dog food as they'll eat less of a good nutritious food, therefore, they'll be
eliminating less also. People are welcome to visit after the puppies have had their first vaccination as we want to ensure they will grow strong and develop a healthy immune system. When our Wheaten puppies are ready to go, they've been veterinarian checked, up-to-date on their shots, dewormed, dew claws removed, tails docked and we give a written health guarantee for 2 years for any hereditary or congenital diseases. By this time, the puppies have been socialized with us, our children and grandchildren and spent time in our indoor and/or outdoor runs.
