The Poodles supposedly originated in Germany but they appeared so early in various parts of the world that there is still some doubt as to where they actually started. For many years, the standard Poodle has been regarded as the national dog of France where it was used as a water retriever as well as a traveling circus trick dog. The Toys/Mini Poodles were believed to never go near the water as they were used for truffle hunting in England and later in Spain and Germany. This edible fungus was a great delicacy and the smaller dogs were great for scenting and digging up the fungus without damaging it. Poodles have been in art and literature dating back to the 1st century.
Poodles have a dense double coat-the top coat is wiry in texture and composed of thick, close curls and the undercoat is warm, wooly and soft. They have dark oval shaped eyes and their ears hang close to the head, set at slightly below eye level.
Our Toy Poodles will be about 5 to 7 lbs. and up to 10" tall at the shoulders. The Miniature Poodles can be up to 10 lbs. and 10 to 14" tall at the shoulders. Our Poodles come in a variety of colors ie.
brown, apricot, silver, balck, parti and tri-colors and more. Poodles are hypoallergenic which is great for so many allergy sufferers.
Poodles are generally good with children and other pets, they're lively, playful, willing to please and very intelligent. Poodles make great lap dogs and they don't require a lot of exercise.
Our veterinarian oversees all environmental and health issues concerning our kennels doing yearly physicals on all of our adults and check-ups on the puppies before they leave for their new home to help ensure a healthy puppy for our customer. All of our parents are on site and you're welcome to see them if you'd like. They're either AKC/APRI or ACA registered.
Our puppies/dogs are kept in our specailly built nursery which is heated/air-conditioned and humidity controlled to be kept at 70 degrees year-round. We recommed feeding a high quality dog food to keep your dog healthy and the coat looking good. After the puppies have had their first vaccination, ensuring they will grow strong and develop a healthy immune system, people are welcome to visit them. When our Poodles are ready to go, they will have been veterinarian checked, up-to-date on their shots, dewormed, dewclaws removed, tails docked and we give a written health guarantee for 2 years for any hereditary or congenital disease.
Our children and grandchildren play a big part in helping with socialization of our puppies and every aspect of the business. We have many repeats and mainly sell by word of mouth with having over 35 years of experience of building up our reputation of good qulaity pets for our customers as good temperament is high priority with us.
If shipping is required, it will include freight charge, an airline approved dog crate, insurance, a USDA health certificate from our veterinarian, a doggy bone, a small bag of food attached to the top of the kennel (we want you to keep your puppy on our for for 2 days and then start blending it with yours after that) and also the paperwork.
